PRESS RELEASE
Eikon MV3 Now available from Stock
ONLINE SERVICE ADDS A NEW DIMENSION TO CNC MACHINE TOOL BACKUP
& SUPPORT
CNC Machine Tools Limited can now supply the Eikon MV3 machine directly
from stock in their Norwich showrooms. This gives their customer the
chance to see the machine cutting their own components prior to delivery.
The Eikon vertical machining centres feature a moving column design
enabling maximum rigidity and the maximum reliability. The MV3 boasts
axis travels to X 1,800mm Y 500mm and Z 480mm. It is very popular in
the competitive sub contract market where the advantage the user gains
in productivity gives them a real competitive edge against their rivals.
The machine is designed to allow a non-stop manufacturing system that
eliminates idle time. The machine is equipped with a partition, which
allows pendular machining. Loading of one side can be made during the
production cycle of the other side of the machine. Eliminating these
loading/unloading idle times provides the user with maximum productivity,
both in the machining of medium-large sized batches and in the machining
of different families of workpieces in single batches of small sizes.
Another benefit is the outstanding longitudinal X axis travel values.
To covert from pendular operation, the central guard is removed and
the machine is re-set for long bed mode. The full X axis on the MV3
machine is 1,800mm with a usable work surface of 2,000 mm. in length
making it ideal for longer workpieces without comparable increases in
Y and Z axes. Eikon can also manufacture machines with X axis up to
6m for longer bed applications.
The MV3 machine is equipped with a 12.000 rpm (ISO 40) or 24.000 rpm
(HSK 63) spindle. The spindle power can reach 15 kW from 1.500 rpm.
The machine can also accept an ultra high speed 32,000 rpm spindle (HSK-E40)
with special ceramic bearings. The automatic tool change, provided by
a double arm and a random selection, has 20 (or optionally 36) locations
storage. A centralized coolant device is fitted as standard supplied
by an automatic pump. A secondary coolant pump ensures swarf is kept
clear of the working area. Through spindle coolant is also available
as an optional specification.
For highest efficiency, the MV 3 machine can be built with a twin spindle
configuration (DS series), which gives double the output compared to
the standard machine. This also features a double toolchange system
with 2 x 20 (optional 36) tool positions.
The MV series can also be supplied with a wide range of CNC systems:
Fanuc, Siemens and Heidenhain which enables it to be adapted to real
working conditions depending on the end user's requirements. CNC Machine
Tools bring the machine into stock for the UK market with the Fanuc
21iM CNC control complete with 'Operator Guidance', for simple shop-floor
programming and graphical prove out. Other systems can be fitted according
to the customers order requirement.
